Cookies & browser storage

A simple account of what the public NousPolis website stores on your device today.

Effective: 15 August 2026

Current position: NousPolis does not currently use analytics, advertising, behavioural profiling, or third-party tracking cookies on the public site.

1. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small pieces of information that websites can store in a browser. Browsers also provide related storage mechanisms, such as local storage, that can remember a setting on the device.

2. What NousPolis stores

The current site stores one first-party browser preference under the key nouspolis_consent_v1. It records whether you chose “Accept” or “Necessary only” in the site's privacy notice so that we do not repeatedly ask you the same question.

This preference is stored in local storage rather than as an advertising or analytics cookie. It is not used to identify you across websites, build a profile, or measure your browsing behaviour.

3. Necessary and optional storage

The public site currently has no optional analytics or advertising storage to activate. The two choices in the consent notice therefore result in the same tracker-free site experience today. They are retained so the interface can remain clear and so a future material change can trigger a new consent version rather than silently changing what an old choice meant.

4. Future changes

If NousPolis later introduces optional analytics, embedded third-party services, or other non-essential browser storage, we will update this page and the consent interface before those technologies are enabled for visitors who have not agreed to them. A material change will use a new consent version so visitors can make a fresh choice.

5. Changing your choice

Use the “Cookie settings” control in the footer to reopen the consent notice. You can also remove the saved preference by clearing site data for nouspolis.org in your browser.

6. Contact

Questions about cookies or browser storage can be sent to [email protected].
