Terms of Use

These terms govern use of the public NousPolis website. They do not govern any future commercial service, public-sector deployment, or institutional implementation.

Effective: 15 August 2026

Project status: NousPolis is an early-stage governance architecture and research project. The public website is an explanatory layer, not a deployed governance system and not a source of governmental authority.

1. Using this website

By using nouspolis.org, you agree to use the site lawfully and in a way that does not interfere with its operation, security, availability, or other visitors. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the site.

2. Informational purpose

The website explains ideas, architecture, research directions, project status, and technical records relating to NousPolis. Content is provided for general information and public scrutiny. It is not legal, financial, medical, governmental, or other professional advice, and it should not be treated as an official public decision or instruction.

3. Accuracy and project changes

We aim to describe the project accurately, but NousPolis is under active development. Explanatory material may change, contain errors, or become outdated. Where the website summarizes technical or constitutional architecture, the specifically identified authoritative technical record takes precedence over narrative summaries.

4. Intellectual property and reuse

Unless a page, repository, specification, or file states a separate licence, publication on this website does not by itself grant a licence to reproduce, modify, or commercially exploit protected material. Open-source or openly licensed materials remain governed by the licence attached to those materials.

5. External links

The site may link to external repositories, research, standards, organisations, or services. Those resources are controlled by their respective operators. A link does not imply endorsement, partnership, or responsibility for external content.

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not knowingly misuse the site, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its security or availability, introduce malicious code, scrape or automate access in a way that materially disrupts service, or falsely represent that you act for NousPolis or any public institution.

7. No warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its content are provided on an “as available” basis without warranties that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, suitable for a particular purpose, or appropriate for adoption by any government or organisation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the NousPolis project maintainers are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or similar losses arising solely from reliance on this public informational website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Future services and legal operator

If NousPolis later offers commercial services, hosted tools, accounts, subscriptions, or institutional deployments, those activities may require separate terms. If a specific legal entity becomes the formal operator of the site, these terms will be updated to identify that entity and any additional legal provisions that apply.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the project, website, or legal structure develops. The effective date above will be changed when a material revision is published.

11. Contact
